Nutrition
Our nutrition philosophy is simple.
Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that support exercise but not body fat.
Using this nutrition approach, you can reverse and prevent chronic disease, improve gut health, and reduce systemic inflammation. We believe that food is medicine and if you give your body the proper fuel, your body will heal itself. We teach you how to break this down into a sustainable lifestyle so you can get your health back and get your life back!
Life Coaching and Counseling
In recent years, addressing mental and behavioral health challenges in patients with medical conditions has come to be recognized as an important part of an overall plan of wellness. With the COVID pandemic, people have sought mental health support like never before, which has allowed for expanded services and a better understanding of the need to support people through a more holistic approach. Adding mental health support to an overall wellness plan has been shown to yield better results overall, and allows patients to become more fully engaged in their own treatment and healing process.
The philosophy behind True North’s program is to equip our clients and patients with tools, education, and a multi-disciplinary team approach to addressing both physical and mental health challenges. Science is now proving the significant mind-body connection when related to disease, chronic health issues, and mental health, and we now know that treating one without the other is highly ineffective.
Our approach to mental health support combines a life coaching approach to goal setting and focusing on positive dynamics, while also utilizing therapeutic approaches to overcome barriers. We facilitate our patients’ internal growth while supporting them in a new process of self-empowerment when it comes to their own health. We believe in supporting people who desire permanent, healthy, lasting changes that will benefit them for a lifetime, and are committed to providing every opportunity for their success!
Strength & Conditioning
Our strength and conditioning program focuses on constantly varied functional movement applied over broad time and modal domains coupled with proper nutrition — this is the foundation of a healthy lifestyle that aims to prevent, treat and reverse chronic disease.
Our training program is tailored to fit each client’s goals whether that be to improve health, lose weight, or enhance physical performance. The program is designed to work for everyone, from beginners to people who have years of training experience.
Each session is led by our highly experienced physical trainers who aim to optimize movement through consistent cues and feedback to keep clients safe. Movements will be properly scaled to allow appropriate load and stimulus to achieve the desired effects.
The primary intent of this comprehensive approach to health in conjunction with our strength and conditioning program is to enhance metabolism, increase functional strength, and boost energy while reversing inflammation, decreasing risk of chronic disease, and promoting fat loss.
Physical Therapy & Injury Prevention
Our goal is to restore musculoskeletal function, treat chronic injury, optimize performance and prevent injuries before they occur through a careful screening process using functional movements and neuromuscular assessments. A select number of interventions can then be prescribed to optimize movement patterns and keep our clients healthy. If injuries do occur, we believe that after physical therapy intervention has improved function, patients should continue to be monitored as needed to keep them healthy for the lifetime. As Newton’s 1st Law states, “A body in motion will stay in motion, and a body at rest will stay at rest.” Keep moving forward!
